EMR and Adoption of Clinical Decision Support: Preparing for Patient Centered Medical Home Level 3 Integraiton

The Primary Care Development Corporation, in partnership with Open Door Family Health Centers, Inc., NYU School of Nursing and Dentistry, and the Mailman School of Public Health, is conducting a study to evaluate the use of clinical decision support (CDS) functionality in a community health care setting. This 3-year project, financed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, is focused on practical, clinician-driven solutions to using technology to improve workflow, adhere to evidence-based guidelines, and improve patient outcomes. The study team is looking at the effect of CDS on provider behavior in managing hypertension.
Speakers will address issues including:
n What practices are useful, and why or why not?
n How easy is the technology to use?
n Does regular feedback to providers on their patients’ changes/maintenance of vital signs help?
